Alan is the Manager and co-ordinator for this 50-year-old, Council sponsored event. It is also attended by many other artists, and is open to the public daily from May until September. It is from here, over the last 15 years, that Alan’s work has found its way into many collections worldwide.Originally his work reflected this, containing many illustrations and paintings of the species he studied. After a short while, the surrounding landscape of the areas he visited, became more of a focal point. Christchurch Harbour, Hengistbury Head and the Avon Valley soon began to provide ideal inspiration for the development of the unique style, for which Alan has become more widely known.
Recently Alan’s subject matter has been extended to include paintings of The New Forest and many other local coastal vistas, as well as still producing the occasional wildlife picture.
